{"id":111903,"date":"2026-06-19T06:34:15","date_gmt":"2026-06-19T06:34:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/111903\/"},"modified":"2026-06-19T06:34:15","modified_gmt":"2026-06-19T06:34:15","slug":"qc-showcases-qatars-investment-strength-at-29th-arab-german-business-forum-in-berlin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/111903\/","title":{"rendered":"QC showcases Qatar\u2019s investment strength at 29th Arab-German Business Forum in Berlin"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tribune News Network<\/p>\n<p>Berlin<\/p>\n<p>Qatar Chamber (QC) highlighted Qatar\u2019s growing role as a global investment and innovation hub as it participated in the 29th Arab-German Business Forum, which opened on Thursday in the German capital, Berlin.<\/p>\n<p>The high-profile forum brought together senior government officials, business leaders, investors and representatives of leading economic institutions from across the Arab world and Germany to discuss opportunities for deeper economic cooperation amid rapid global transformation.<\/p>\n<p>Held under the theme \u201cBeyond Transformation: Intelligence, Innovation and Impact,\u201d this year\u2019s edition also marked the 50th anniversary of the Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Ghorfa), celebrating five decades of fostering economic relations between Germany and the Arab world. Significantly, Qatar was honoured as the Forum\u2019s Partner Country, reflecting its growing prominence as an international investment destination and strategic economic partner.<\/p>\n<p>Qatar Chamber\u2019s delegation was headed by Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohamed Al Thani, chairman of Qatar Chamber and First Vice President of Ghorfa. The delegation also included board members Dr Khalid bin Klefeekh Al Hajri and Mohamed bin Ahmed Al Obaidli, Acting General Manager Ali Bu Sherbak Al Mansori, Sheikha Tamader Al Thani, Director of International Relations and Chamber Affairs, and Ahmed Abu Nahya, Acting Director of the Public Relations Department.<\/p>\n<p>The forum, organised by Ghorfa in cooperation with Qatar Chamber and the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK), was attended by several prominent officials, including HE Dr Ahmed bin Mohamed Al-Sayed, Minister of State for Foreign Trade Affairs at Qatar\u2019s Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and Katherina Reiche, Federal Minister of Economy and Energy of Germany, along with presidents of Arab and German chambers of commerce, policymakers, investors and business executives.<\/p>\n<p>Delivering the opening address, Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim described the Arab-German Business Forum as a distinguished global economic platform that reflects the depth and continuity of the strategic partnership between Qatar and Germany, while also demonstrating the strength of long-standing Arab-German relations built on decades of cooperation and mutual trust.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that this year\u2019s forum carried special significance as it coincided with Ghorfa\u2019s golden jubilee, recognising the organisation\u2019s pivotal contribution to strengthening trade, investment and economic cooperation between Arab countries and Germany over the past five decades.<\/p>\n<p>Sheikh Khalifa emphasised that Arab-German relations have consistently been founded on trust, economic complementarity and shared strategic interests. Germany\u2019s industrial and technological excellence, combined with the Arab world\u2019s investment capabilities and dynamic markets, has created a partnership extending beyond traditional trade into sectors such as energy, infrastructure, advanced manufacturing, innovation and cultural cooperation.<\/p>\n<p>Highlighting bilateral relations, he described the Qatari-German partnership as a successful model of resilience and constructive engagement despite ongoing geopolitical and economic challenges.<\/p>\n<p>Sheikh Khalifa also underlined Qatar\u2019s remarkable progress in diversifying its economy beyond hydrocarbons. He said the country has built a competitive investment environment supported by world-class infrastructure, a strong financial system, investor-friendly legislation, streamlined business procedures, competitive taxation policies and continuous support for private sector development.<\/p>\n<p>These reforms, he noted, send a strong message of Qatar\u2019s commitment to economic openness and investor confidence while reinforcing its position as one of the world\u2019s most attractive destinations for foreign investment.<\/p>\n<p>Concluding his address, Sheikh Khalifa said the forum provided an ideal opportunity to strengthen strategic dialogue, establish new partnerships and explore innovative areas of collaboration that would further consolidate Qatar\u2019s standing as a global investment hub.<\/p>\n<p>A key highlight of the event was the participation of Qatar Chamber Board Member Mohamed bin Ahmed Al Obaidli in the opening panel discussion titled \u201cPartner Country Qatar \u2013 Navigating Global Change: Investment, Innovation and Strategic Cooperation in Times of Uncertainty.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>During the session, Al Obaidli highlighted Qatar\u2019s emergence as a stable, diversified and innovation-driven economy that has successfully expanded into sectors including energy, infrastructure, technology, aviation, tourism and education.<\/p>\n<p>He outlined Qatar Chamber\u2019s initiatives to accelerate digital transformation within the private sector, particularly through the establishment of its new Technology and Innovation Committee. According to Al Obaidli, the committee has been created to promote technology adoption, support digital transformation, encourage innovation partnerships and connect technology providers, investors, policymakers, universities, startups and businesses.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing the broader economic relationship, he noted that Germany remains one of the Arab world\u2019s leading trading partners, with total Arab-German trade reaching approximately \u20ac57.6 billion in 2024.
