{"id":113203,"date":"2026-06-21T12:56:47","date_gmt":"2026-06-21T12:56:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/113203\/"},"modified":"2026-06-21T12:56:47","modified_gmt":"2026-06-21T12:56:47","slug":"pegula-beats-keys-to-reach-berlin-open-semifinals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/113203\/","title":{"rendered":"Pegula beats Keys to reach Berlin Open semifinals"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>American world number four Jessica Pegula advanced to the semi-finals of the WTA event in Berlin after a straight-sets victory over compatriot Madison Keys on Friday, <a href=\"https:\/\/news.az\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">News.Az<\/a> reports, citing <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.france24.com\/en\/live-news\/20260619-pegula-sinks-keys-to-reach-berlin-open-semis\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">AFP<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Pegula, the 2024 champion on Berlin\u2019s grass courts, won 7-6 (7\/5), 7-6 (10\/8) in sweltering conditions in the German capital.<\/p>\n<p>In their first meeting since Pegula ended Keys\u2019 title defence at the <a href=\"https:\/\/news.az\/search?search=australian_open\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Australian Open<\/a> in January, both players broke serve once in the opening set before forcing a tiebreak, which Pegula won.<\/p>\n<p>Pegula raced to a 4-2 lead in the second set, but Keys fought back to force another tiebreak.
