The equipment operated on the apron, aircraft taxiing areas, and the runway. During the testing period, the vehicle covered 179 kilometres and consumed 31 kilograms of hydrogen.<\/p>\n<p>The tests demonstrated that hydrogen technologies can be used for aerodrome maintenance in winter conditions, while also highlighting areas needing improvement. When air temperatures dropped below minus 10 degrees Celsius, the battery discharged faster than the hydrogen system could replenish it.<\/p>\n<p>Project Manager Martins Grels indicated that aerodrome maintenance equipment is a critical part of airport operations, and the airport is seeking solutions to reduce emissions in this segment. He noted that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.indexbox.io\/store\/branch\/green-hydrogen-economy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">testing hydrogen technologies<\/a> is a step toward climate-neutral airport operations and that pilot projects help evaluate alternative energy solutions under local climate conditions and daily operations. The tests provided valuable experience for further technology development.<\/p>\n<p>The testing was carried out under the Interreg Baltic Sea Region Programme project BSR HyAirport, in cooperation with the Latvian Hydrogen Association, Zerobus OU, Finavia, and other partners.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t1.
