It was the best thing, because I got to experience the islands there at my own tempo. I rented a super-tiny red car and cruised around. It\u2019s so cool there and has very diverse nature. In the wintertime there\u2019s amazing skiing; in the summertime it feels very tropical and looks like the Hawaii of Norway: super green, incredible mountains, sandy beaches, turquoise water. There\u2019s an abandoned factory that\u2019s been turned into a hotel, restaurant, and bar called Trevarefabrikken<\/a> that holds a small music festival in the summer midnight sun and in winter.\u201d<\/p>\n Hotel Union \u00d8ye<\/p>\n \u201cThis hotel is deep in the fjord near \u00c5lesund, my hometown, on the west coast of Norway. It\u2019s gorgeous, very romantic. I know the people who run it, and they\u2019ve tried to keep the original features. It has Norwegian heritage, but there\u2019s also a UK connection, because British travelers came here in the 19th century and hung out. The main thing is the nature around it.
