{"id":115362,"date":"2026-06-24T12:01:09","date_gmt":"2026-06-24T12:01:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/115362\/"},"modified":"2026-06-24T12:01:09","modified_gmt":"2026-06-24T12:01:09","slug":"novo-nordisk-and-re-green-to-restore-amazonian-forest-in-new-cdr-deal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/115362\/","title":{"rendered":"Novo Nordisk And Re.green To Restore Amazonian Forest In New CDR Deal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Global healthcare <a href=\"https:\/\/www.novonordisk.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">company<\/a> Novo Nordisk has signed a long-term partnership with the 2025 <a href=\"https:\/\/earthshotprize.org\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Earthshot Prize<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/re.green\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">winner<\/a> re.green, embarking on a shared project that will restore forests in the Amazon, delivering carbon dioxide removal (CDR) credits.<\/p>\n<p>The two companies have entered a 20-year partnership that will restore an area of 500 hectares of native forest in the Paragominas municipality, located in the Brazilian state of Par\u00e1.<\/p>\n<p>According to the project developers, these efforts are expected to generate 87,000 carbon removal credits over the complete period of the contract.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The project implementation will rely on long-term collaborations with rural landowners, who will enter legally binding agreements to maintain the restored forest areas beyond the financing period.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Through this project, re.green and Novo Nordisk intend to revive the selected area with native Amazonian tree species.
