In recent days, the port calls have included fabulous weather for sightseeting in Copenhagen, Denmark and Warnemmünde/Rostock in Germany.

The virtually deadpan-flat Danish capital makes it a mecca to explore by foot, with Viking including a tour as complimentary for those not wishing to participate in longer activities. Guests do have ample options to select from in Copenhagen, which is ideal for repeat visitors to the city. Options include a visit to Kronborg Castle, the Christiansborg Palace & Tivoli Gardens, and a Canal Cruise.

The included Copenhagen by Foot takes guests around the key landmarks which are close to the port, including the iconic Little Mermaid statue which is within a kilometre of where Viking Sky moors. Guides take passengers through the Citadel Military Barracks, along cobbled streets to Amalienborg Palace (where Australia-born Queen Mary resides) and Frederik’s Church, and along the coastline.

In the King’s Garden of Rosenborg Castle

The Platinum Club members were privy to an after hours tour of Rosenborg Castle, a 400-year-old Renaissance building in the heart of the city. Built by King Christian IV in the early 1600s, Rosenburg Castle now operates as a museum showcasing the royal history, with well-preserved interiors, and the dazzling Danish Crown Jewels, on display (and guarded) underground in The Treasury, including a low-profile tiara using some of the historic jewels, designed by Queen Mary herself.

On the top floor of the castle is The Knights’ Hall which showcases stunning tapestries, the coronation thrones, and three life-size silver lions that ceremonially guard the monarchy. There’s even an odd ‘fart chair’, officially known as the Wetting Trap Chair, that dates back to the 17th century. Commissioned by the Danish monarchy, it used hidden bellows to emit a loud whoopee cushion noise and sprayed water on unsuspecting guests. It seems even Royals love a good fart joke!

Viking’s 2025 Platinum Club (and plus ones) in The Knight’s Hall of Rosenburg Castle, Copehagen.

Outside Rosennborg Castle is the King’s Garden (Kongens Have)—the oldest and most visited park in Copenhagen. It features a beautiful Rose Garden that was in full bloom for the 2025 Platinum Club’s visit.

From Warnemmünde/Rostock, many Platinum Club members took the 12 hour itinerary to Berlin, which included a private (charter) train for the 2+ hour journey each way to the German capital. Other options included a Scenic Berlin tour by motor coach & cruise, or remaining local and exploring Rostock either on foot, or on two wheels, as LATTE did, enjoying a leisurely cycle through parts of the enormous Rostocker Heide – Germany’s largest contiguous coast forest spanning approximately 6,000 hectares along the Baltic Sea in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, northeast of Rostock.

The cycle included a short break at one of the white sand dune beaches, offering a chance to take a dip in the Baltic Sea (and where clothing was optional for the locals).

Next stop, we’re spending our last day in Denmark where we are docked in Rønne, the port city of Bornholm.

Lead image, in the Knight’s Hall from left are: Ash Van der Veer, Lee Van Dongen, Hollie McCann, Jo Cullen, Lena Paterson, Emma Newton, Gen Thompson, Kristy Cornish and Candice Free.

Viking’s 2025 Platinum Club have made the most of the long summer days in the Nordics while sailing…

[2
112,108,27,26,58303,30682,618,58304
post-116993","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-denmark","tag-berlin","tag-copenhagen","tag-danmark","tag-denmark","tag-platinum-club","tag-rosenborg-castle","tag-viking","tag-viking-2025-platinum-club
["GET
