At the time, the project was one of several fan builds greenlit to become future LEGO Ideas sets, alongside projects based on Power Rangers, The Smurfs, La Catrina, ramen, and Downton Abbey.

The leaked packaging features a large brick-built E.T. model with a raised arm and outstretched finger, recreating one of the character’s most recognizable gestures from the 1982 Steven Spielberg film. The figure has oversized blue eyes, a long neck, a rounded head, and a sculpted torso, using a mix of curved and sloped tan elements to capture E.T.’s distinctive look. He also appears to be holding a flowerpot with several small flowers, referencing the plant E.T. revives in the film.

A “batteries included” notice is visible on the lower portion of the box art, suggesting the set may include a light-up function. Based on the leaked render, the light feature may be connected to E.T.’s glowing finger or the red-lit chest detail, though the exact function has not been officially described.

This would not be E.T.’s first appearance in LEGO form. LEGO previously released the character as part of the 2016 LEGO Dimensions E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial Fun Pack, set 71258, which included 42 pieces.

This new LEGO Ideas release, however, would be a much larger display model centered on the character himself.

The rumored set is especially notable for Universal Orlando Resort fans, as E.T. Adventure continues to operate at Universal Studios Florida. Park guests can also enjoy a limited-time Steven Spielberg tribute store in the park that includes new merchandise and various behind-the-scenes displays for the iconic ’80s film.

Would you add this LEGO Ideas E.T. set to your collection?
