As part of this collaboration, DSV\u2019s logistics center in Venlo, Netherlands, has been equipped with the \u201eSkypod System.\u201c According to a statement from Exotec, the aim of this implementation is to optimize fulfillment processes for various retail brands and to expand supply chains.<\/p>\n
Automation in the warehouse<\/p>\n
Exotec\u2019s \u201eSkypod System\u201c relies on approximately 100 autonomous robots, which the manufacturer claims are capable of managing around 90,000 containers and trays. This solution can be quickly scaled up in response to increasing demand or changes in the product range without requiring extensive renovations.<\/p>\n
The system operates as a goods-to-person solution, where goods are automatically transported to employees. This is intended to ensure fast and reliable processes even during high order volumes. Additionally, the facility includes an intermediate level for returns and offers features such as automatic opening, closing, and labeling of boxes.<\/p>\n
