Go\u0308ktas\u0327\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Turkey has blocked access to X posts carrying clips from comedian Deniz G\u00f6kta\u015f\u2019s viral comedy show \u201c\u00d6l\u00fc Deniz,\u201d citing threats to national security and public order after a ruling party figure accused him of insulting President Recep Tayyip Erdo\u011fan, <a href=\"https:\/\/turkishminute.com\" type=\"link\" id=\"turkishminute.com\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Turkish minute<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The posts, taken from G\u00f6kta\u015f\u2019s show released on YouTube on June 24, were made inaccessible to users in Turkey by X under Article 8\/A of Law No. 5651, the Freedom of Expression Association (\u0130F\u00d6D) announced.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Article 8\/A allows Turkish authorities to order the removal of online content or block access in urgent cases linked to national security, public order, the prevention of crime, public health or the protection of life and property.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">G\u00f6kta\u015f recorded \u201c\u00d6l\u00fc Deniz\u201d on June 1 at the Harbiye Cemil Topuzlu Open Air Theater in \u0130stanbul and uploaded it to YouTube for free viewing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 90-minute show passed 2 million views within days and became a topic of debate for jokes about Erdo\u011fan, \u0130stanbul Mayor Ekrem \u0130mamo\u011flu, jailed politicians, street protests in \u0130stanbul and a court order that annulled the main opposition Republican People\u2019s Party\u2019s 2023 congress.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u0130mamo\u011flu, seen as Erdo\u011fan\u2019s main political rival, has been jailed since March 2025 on corruption charges his party says are politically motivated.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The access ban followed criticism from \u015eamil Tayyar, a former member of the ruling Justice and Development Party\u2019s (AKP) top decision-making body, who accused G\u00f6kta\u015f of insulting Erdo\u011fan and argued that the remarks should not be treated as humor.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No official statement explaining why clips from a comedy show were considered a threat to national security or public order had been issued as of Friday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The
