Moller-Maersk A\/S upgraded its profit outlook for this year, citing solid demand especially in Asia and a <a ref=\"dofollow\" data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#SME#href\" href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/topic\/global-container-market\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">global container market<\/a> that looks to stay healthy for the rest of the year.<\/p>\n<p>The <a ref=\"dofollow\" data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#SME#href\" href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/topic\/copenhagen-based-company\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Copenhagen-based company<\/a>, the world\u2019s No. 2 container carrier, made the announcement in a statement posted on its website late Monday. Ranges for both underlying EBITDA and EBIT were increased, topping analysts estimates, and free cash flow will also be better than previously expected, <a ref=\"dofollow\" data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#SME#href\" href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/topic\/maersk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Maersk<\/a> said.<\/p>\n<p>Container volume growth is now seen at about 4% globally this year, an improvement from Maersk\u2019s previous expectation for an expansion ranging from 2% to 4%.<br \/>Shipping lines are benefiting from a recent surge in spot container rates, as cargo owners look to book early amid disruptions ranging from violence in the Mideast to US tariff uncertainty. Ocean freight volumes typically pick up in July and August as retailers pad inventories for the back-to-school and holiday shopping seasons.<\/p>\n<p>Maersk\u2019s brightened prospects align with comments <a ref=\"dofollow\" data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#SME#href\" href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/topic\/ceo-vincent-clerc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">CEO Vincent Clerc<\/a> made to Bloomberg News last week in Vietnam.\u201cIt has been strong throughout the first half of the year, despite the war and the disruption to energy markets,\u201d Clerc said in an interview in Haiphong, Vietnam. \u201cFor us, the expectation is that this in all likelihood right now looks like it\u2019s set to continue into the rest of the year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"ET logo\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/1782845286_355_118783427.cms.png\" width=\"90%\"\/>Live Events<br \/>Maersk is scheduled to publish its second-quarter interim results on Aug. 13.<br \/>Add <img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"ET Logo\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/1782845287_408_123467569.cms.png\"\/> as a Reliable and Trusted News Source<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A.P.
