Danish star Amalie Vangsgaard has joined Women\u2019s Super League side Aston Villa from Juventus for an undisclosed fee.<\/p>\n

The pacy forward spent the last two seasons with Juve in Serie A where she won the league in 2024\/25 alongside two domestic trophies. The 29-year-old has also previously represented PSG<\/a>, Link\u00f6pings, Nordsj\u00e6lland, Ballerup-Skovlunde and Fortuna Hj\u00f8rring.<\/p>\n

Aston Villa have already secured some big names as they prepare for the season ahead, with Kamilla Melg\u00e5rd<\/a> already being announced.<\/p>\n

Vangsgaard scored 11 goals in 62 appearances during a two-year spell with the Bianconere. Speaking about the factors in her decision making, she said: \u201cI\u2019m really excited and I think the WSL is a very strong league.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m very excited to get into the football world of England<\/a>. The goals they have for the future is a cool journey to be jumping on to. I\u2019ll do my best to get as high in the league as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n

Vangsgaard revealed a desire to play in England and prove herself at WSL level.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s very motivating to hear about Aston Villa and the plans and the players and staff. I\u2019m really looking forward to it. I have a really good impression \u2014 I see that the club is really valuing the women\u2019s team and the facilities are really good and I can\u2019t wait to work here in preseason and get started.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s always special to meet a new team and staff, coaches. It\u2019s going to be very exciting. I\u2019m really looking forward to it and to prove myself in the English league.\u201d<\/p>\n

Aston Villa will be looking to build on their ninth place finish in the WSL last season, which finished on particularly poor form with four losses in the last five games.<\/p>\n
