{"id":1226,"date":"2026-02-06T14:57:23","date_gmt":"2026-02-06T14:57:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/1226\/"},"modified":"2026-02-06T14:57:23","modified_gmt":"2026-02-06T14:57:23","slug":"britains-trade-chief-races-to-brussels-to-avoid-made-in-europe-shutout-politico","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/1226\/","title":{"rendered":"Britain\u2019s trade chief races to Brussels to avoid \u2018Made in Europe\u2019 shutout \u2013 POLITICO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>British officials fear that excluding the U.K. could lock its firms out of key supply chains and skew procurement decisions in favor of EU-based competitors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is something which I am raising rapidly,\u201d Kyle said in response to a POLITICO reporter\u2019s question. \u201cWe have a window of opportunity here to make our voice heard loud and clear before any final decisions are made in the EU, and they are listening very respectfully.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am deeply worried by some of the voices coming out of Europe, but it is not a unanimous voice that\u2019s coming out of the EU,\u201d said Kyle.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The policy is <a href=\"https:\/\/pro.politico.eu\/news\/212442\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">facing pushback from Germany<\/a>, which wants to ensure the U.K. and other countries with a free trade agreement with the EU can participate in investments and public procurement covered by the act \u2014 while France is taking a more protectionist approach and wants industrial production rooted firmly on EU soil.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Kyle is expected to meet EU Trade Commissioner Maro\u0161 \u0160ef\u010dovi\u010d during the trip, as London ramps up its engagement with Brussels.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI met Maro\u0161 in Davos.
