This move represents the first scheduled return of a Gemini service to the Red Sea corridor.<\/p>\n<p>The change will begin with the departure of the vessel Majestic Maersk. The two carriers stated that the decision followed a detailed review of security conditions in the Red Sea and is part of a phased reintroduction of the trans-Suez route.<\/p>\n<p>The AE15 service connects Asia, the Mediterranean, and Europe, calling at Qingdao, Kwangyang, Ningbo, Tanjung Pelepas, Port Said, Damietta, Colombo, and Singapore. Maersk noted that the Suez Canal remains the fastest, most efficient, and most sustainable pathway between Asia and Europe.<\/p>\n<p>By shifting the AE15 back to the Suez Canal instead of routing vessels around the Cape of Good Hope, the company expects to provide customers with shorter transit times and more efficient supply chains. Despite this change, Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd indicated they will keep monitoring the security situation in the Middle East.<\/p>\n<p>The companies emphasized that the safety of crews, vessels, and cargo remains their highest priority. They also confirmed that contingency plans exist; if security conditions worsen, the service could temporarily revert to the Cape of Good Hope route.
