US President Donald Trump<\/a> doubled down on his criticism of Nato member states\u2019 refusal to aid Washington\u2019s military operation in the Middle East<\/a>, while noting that his country would consider selling F-35 fighter jets to Turkey after years of deadlock.In his meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan<\/a> on Tuesday, the US president, who arrived in Ankara to attend this year\u2019s Nato summit, said he was \u201cvery disappointed\u201d with fellow Nato member states during Washington\u2019s military operation against Iran and the opening of the Strait of Hormuz.Noting that he would have skipped this year\u2019s summit if it were not hosted in Turkey<\/a> by his \u201cfriend\u201d Erdogan, Trump said that the US was \u201cnot treated well\u201d during the Iran conflict<\/a>, despite Washington\u2019s \u201ctrillions of dollars\u201d worth of investment into Nato<\/a> in the past several decades to protect European countries and Canada from the Soviet Union and Russia.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe don\u2019t need anybody\u2019s help. I didn\u2019t even want the help, but before I asked, they said they wouldn\u2019t be there \u2026 and in a way, I was testing people,\u201d Trump said, while addressing the media and sitting next to Erdogan.<\/p>\n
