The company has also started phased power dispatch to the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) grid. Once fully commissioned, the project is expected to become Africa&#8217;s largest combined solar PV and battery energy storage project, supporting grid reliability and the integration of renewable energy, says AMEA.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>JSW\u00a0Energy Expands BESS Business with New Orders\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>India\u2019s\u00a0JSW\u00a0Energy said its step-down subsidiary,\u00a0JSW\u00a0Energy PSP Eleven Limited (JEPEL), has secured orders worth\u00a0INR\u00a0443.74 crore from\u00a0Bondada\u00a0Renewable Energy Private Limited. Under the contract,\u00a0it\u00a0will\u00a0supply 200 MW\/400 MWh of\u00a0BESS\u00a0and power conversion system (PCS) solutions.\u00a0JEPEL\u00a0manufactures battery systems at its 5 GWh per year assembly plant in Pune. The company said the order strengthens its presence in the energy storage segment.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>JSW\u00a0Energy currently has 29.6 GWh of locked-in energy storage capacity and is targeting 40 GWh by 2030 as part of its long-term growth plans.\u00a0Its locked-in generation capacity of 32.1 GW\u00a0comprises\u00a014.53 GW operational and 13 GW under construction across thermal, hydro,\u00a0and renewables, along with 4.6 GW in the pipeline.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>OX2 Expands Hybrid Renewable Portfolio in Sweden\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Swedish independent power producer (IPP) OX2 has approved the construction of a 50 MW\/209 MWh BESS alongside its\u00a0Fager\u00e5sen\u00a0Wind Farm in\u00a0Malung-S\u00e4len, Sweden. The project expands the company\u2019s hybrid renewable energy portfolio and follows its earlier SEK 3 billion investment in the wind farm. OX2 says this will be its first owned wind project in Sweden. Trinasolar is supplying the battery storage\u00a0component. The project will be financed through an extension of existing commitments from DNB and UniCredit. Construction on site is set to begin this summer, with commissioning expected by the end of 2027.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Havells Partners\u00a0Pixii\u00a0to Enter India\u2019s BESS Market\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Havells India Limited, the Indian electrical equipment manufacturer, has entered the BESS segment through a strategic collaboration with Norway-based\u00a0Pixii\u00a0AS. The companies have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to develop and introduce modular BESS solutions for India&#8217;s residential\u00a0and\u00a0commercial\u00a0&amp;\u00a0industrial (C&amp;I) markets. Under a phased roadmap, the partners plan\u00a0to begin with pilot installations, co-develop integrated energy storage solutions, and gradually move towards local manufacturing in India. The collaboration, said the duo,\u00a0combines Havells&#8217; manufacturing and distribution network with\u00a0Pixii&#8217;s\u00a0energy storage technology to support the country&#8217;s growing clean energy and storage market.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In April 2025, Havells announced\u00a0an\u00a0INR 6 billion strategic investment in Indian solar module producer Goldi Solar to\u00a0acquire\u00a0a stake of between 8.90% and 9.24%\u00a0(see\u00a0<a aria-label=\"content\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/taiyangnews.info\/markets\/india-solar-pv-news-snippets-april-30-2025\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">India Solar PV News Snippets<\/a>).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>ReNew, Mitsui Refinance 320 MW\u00a0RTC\u00a0Project\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A consortium of 12 lenders has refinanced\u00a0ReNew\u00a0Energy Global\u00a0and Mitsui&#8217;s 320 MW round-the-clock (RTC) hybrid renewable energy project in India\u00a0with\u00a0a green loan equivalent to $730 million. The financing will refinance the project&#8217;s existing senior debt and support\u00a0additional\u00a0project costs and capital expenditure. The project spans Rajasthan, Maharashtra,\u00a0and Karnataka, combining solar, wind,\u00a0and battery energy storage to provide firm, dispatchable renewable power.
