Months later, however, interim President Delcy Rodriguez is still in charge, though she has warned Trump that Venezuela is \u201cnot a colony, but a free country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Meanwhile, in Cuba, tensions appear to remain high, as the country\u2019s electrical grid collapses and Trump calls for a change in regime on the island. Last month, the U.S. Treasury Department leveled sanctions on Cuban President Miguel D\u00edaz-Canel, Castro\u2019s son and grandson, along with others. In response, U.S. President Donald Trump said of Cuba: \u201cWe\u2019re going to handle that as soon as we\u2019ve finished\u201d military operations in Iran.
