The United States looks to secure a spot in the men\u2019s ice hockey quarterfinals at the 2026 Winter Olympics, as they get set to take on Denmark on Saturday. <\/p>\n
While hockey has been a staple at the Winter Games since its inception over 100 years ago, this will be just the sixth time NHLers will compete in the tournament, and the first since 2014. With the mix of top-tier talent and European regulars, there is a lot of excitement heading into this year\u2019s tournament.<\/p>\n
The Americans are very confident heading into this year\u2019s tournament. After a couple of disappointing results with no NHLers present, the team is constructed of some of the best players in the league. Led by captain Auston Matthews, one of the premier scorers in the game, Team USA has a number of strong players who look to make an impact in Milan, including the ever-forceful brothers, Brady and Matthew Tkachuk.<\/p>\n
They looked pretty good in their first game, running away with a 5-1 victory over Latvia on Thursday.<\/p>\n
They take on a Danish squad that played hard against Germany in their first game of the tournament, but ended up losing 3-1. While every team in the tournament automatically moves on to the knockout stage, Denmark, a team has a few talented NHLers, was hoping they could spook a team or two in the preliminary round. <\/p>\n
