LEGO has been an exhibitor there for years and will be attending this time too, so nothing out of the ordinary there. But one panel event taking place during SDCC has caught our attention: Could this be where the upcoming LEGO Star Trek set, the bridge of the Enterprise from the original series (11385), gets its first public reveal?

SDCC is one of the biggest international pop culture conventions, and it long ago grew well beyond just comics to focus in large part on movies and TV shows, especially in the superhero and sci-fi genres. Plenty of subject matter, then, to explain the presence of LEGO and other toy manufacturers, who are increasingly betting on exactly these kinds of licenses in their lineups. Direct competitors Hasbro and Mattel are represented at SDCC as well, in fact right next to the LEGO booth.

Floor plan showing this year’s SDCC exhibitors

Beyond the classic exhibitor booths, SDCC is also known for the many events held during the convention, including so-called panels, where stars from the various franchises appear, share some behind-the-scenes stories, and answer fan questions. Naturally, these panels are also a favorite venue for unveiling upcoming movies/TV spin-offs or merchandise products, and that’s exactly where things get interesting for us as LEGO fans!

On July 23 at 11:00 AM PDT, a panel called Star Trek: The Collector Frontier will take place. The (presumably deliberately vague) description in the SDCC schedule reads verbatim (emphasis ours):

Captain, incoming transmission. A celebration of upcoming launches from two iconic fan-favorite toy companies, featuring an exclusive new video presentation, appearances by the creators behind the toys, and prize giveaways.

According to Variety, a typically well-informed trade publication covering the US entertainment industry, which reportedly has exclusive info, one of these “fan-favorite toy companies” is LEGO – which really only leads to one conclusion: this is where the upcoming LEGO Star Trek set of the original Enterprise bridge is set to be shown for the first time.

The bridge of the NCC-1701, the U.S.S. None of this has been officially confirmed yet, of course, but the rumor has been floating around for a long time and the first leaks of the minifigure torsos have already surfaced. In just a few days, we might finally get our first closer look at the set, which is slated to release in September.

      Rumors

📢 Update (June 10, 2026, 5:40 AM ET / 11:40 AM CET): After we already reported in March about the rumor that we can soon expect a LEGO Star Trek model of the bridge from …

We can also likely look forward to news about the future of LEGO Ninjago, since a few hours later LEGO is also hosting its own panel celebrating Ninjago’s 15th anniversary, whose description reads (emphasized by us):

NINJAGO voice talent Sam Vincent (Lloyd), Vincent Tong (Kai), Paul Dobson (Master Wu), Deven Mack (Arin), Sabrina Pitre (Sora), and Kazumi Evans (Wyldfyre) take the stage to celebrate 15 years of everyone’s favorite minifig ninja team.
