Opening in August 2026, CORI Hotel combines Scandinavian design, longevity-focused wellness and Nordic dining in Hornb\u00e6k, a seaside town north of Copenhagen.<\/p>\n

A new luxury hotel is set to open on Denmark’s north coast this August, bringing a fresh hospitality offering to the beach town of Hornb\u00e6k, around 40 minutes from Copenhagen.<\/p>\n

Located directly opposite Hornb\u00e6k Beach, CORI Hotel<\/a> occupies a restored 1935 seaside hotel overlooking one of Denmark’s best-known stretches of coastline. The property has 77 rooms and suites, five townhouse apartments, a restaurant and a wellness centre, positioning itself as a year-round destination rather than a seasonal beach hotel.<\/p>\n

The opening reflects growing demand for slower, wellness-focused escapes in Scandinavia, where travellers are increasingly seeking destinations that combine nature, design and health experiences.<\/p>\n

The hotel has been designed by Afroditi Krassa, whose previous projects include Rosewood Hotels, Harrods London and One&Only Aesthesis in Athens. Interiors combine Scandinavian design with bespoke wooden furniture made on the owners’ nearby farm. One of the signature accommodations is the Sky Suite, which features a private terrace and curved floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the surrounding dunes.<\/p>\n

Jesper Brunander, owner of COPI and developer of CORI, says: “For us, CORI is more than a hotel. It is a labor of love and a tribute to the architectural heritage of the Danish Riviera. This building was originally conceived in 1935 as a ‘Badehotel,’ which was a place for healing by the sea, and we felt a profound responsibility to restore Ole Falkentorp’s functionalist icon to its former glory while modernizing it for a new era. Our vision was to create a space that respects the quiet, understated wealth of Danish culture while offering a level of international, ‘barefoot luxury’ that feels both welcoming to our local Hornb\u00e6k community and irresistible to global travelers.”<\/p>\n

Later in 2026, the hotel will open the CORI Spa, expanding its focus on longevity and preventative wellbeing. The spa will centre on an indoor pool inspired by a greenhouse and offer Nordic-style hot and cold therapies, including sea plunges and outdoor saunas. Guests will also have access to recovery technology such as compression boots, LED face masks and Smart Eye Goggles, alongside yoga, pilates and sound therapy.<\/p>\n

The spa will work with skincare and wellbeing brands including Tata Harper, Raeso, Raaw Alchemy and Manasi7. According to the hotel, it will be the only spa in Scandinavia to collaborate with all four brands.<\/p>\n

Dining is another key part of the CORI Hotel experience. Cori Table is led by chef Brian Mark, formerly of Michelin-starred S\u00f8ller\u00f8d Kro, and serves seasonal Nordic cuisine influenced by Mediterranean cooking. Menus will focus on locally sourced seafood, Danish produce and plant-led dishes that support the hotel’s wider wellbeing philosophy.<\/p>\n

Alongside the restaurant, The Jetty will serve coffee during the day before transitioning to juices, alcohol-free drinks and cocktails in the evening. The venue overlooks the beach and draws inspiration from Hornb\u00e6k’s historic harbour, where locals and visitors have traditionally gathered at sunset.<\/p>\n

Anya Brunander, CEO and co-owner of COPI, says: “In developing CORI, we wanted to move beyond the traditional seaside aesthetic and create something truly visionary that celebrates the incredible natural light and raw beauty of this coastline. By blending Scandinavian restraint with Mediterranean warmth, we have created a year-round sanctuary where guests can feel physically and mentally ‘elevated,’ whether through a Michelin-caliber meal from Chef Brian Mark Hansen or the reinvigorating ritual of a cold sea plunge followed by our innovative longevity treatments. It is a place where the rhythm of the waves lulls you to sleep and every detail is designed to help you exhale.”<\/p>\n

Visitors staying at CORI Hotel will also be within easy reach of attractions including the UNESCO-listed Kronborg Castle, made famous as the setting of Shakespeare’s Hamlet, and the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art. The surrounding area also offers coastal walking trails, forests, water sports and private boat trips along what is often referred to as the Danish Riviera.
