The Spring/Summer 2027 collections explored themes of sustainability, technology, and identity.

Berlin Fashion Week presented 53 shows for the Spring/Summer 2027 season – Orange Culture, Ben Mönks

The designs on show reflected a range of approaches: sample030, for instance, cast Tempelhof Airport as a historic meeting place, whilst designers such as Andrej Gronau, Marie-Louise Müller, and Rebekka Ruétz contrasted urban realities with fresh perspectives. Nature-inspired motifs, floral elements, and earthy tones recurred as design hallmarks.

Another key theme was the intersection of people and technology. Impari and Esther Perbandt examined the relationship between the environment, digitisation, and artificial intelligence. Taskin Goec traced a line from the centuries-old tradition of shadow theatre to the workflows of our digitised present.

Work and societal role models were also reimagined. Haderlump Atelier Berlin explored social dynamics within traditional hospitality, whilst Kolya Bogytyrev analysed uniforms and formal dress as expressions of social order. Unvain, by contrast, placed the individual centre stage and investigated the relationship between body, clothing, and personal identity.

Questions of self-perception and emotion shaped numerous other collections. Kasia Kucharska worked with latex and trompe-l’œil effects to probe the boundaries between perceived and actual reality. The Nigerian label Fruché addressed body image and identity through sculptural silhouettes, whilst Mailaikaraiss, marking its 15th anniversary, presented imperfection as an expression of modern beauty. Milk of Lime examined the phase between destruction and new beginnings; SF1OG explored the grey areas between good and evil; and the Japanese label John Lawrence Sullivan juxtaposed such opposites as strength and vulnerability, or reason and desire.

See fashion showWilliam Fan – Spring/Summer 2027 – Womenswear – Germany – Berlin – ©Launchmetrics/spotlight

Memory and history formed another throughline of Fashion Week. Marke took inspiration from Virginia Woolf’s fictional character ‘Orlando,’ Nowrubi developed a multisensory exhibition concept, and William Fan treated the collecting of personal mementoes as a point of departure for sculptural cuts and intricately finished materials. At the same time, Selva Huygens and Marina Hoermanseder channelled Space Age optimism, translating futuristic visions into contemporary collections.

New perspectives on gender roles and social identity also came into focus. Mariusz Przybylski articulated contemporary notions of masculinity through flowing lines and precise tailoring; Clara Colette Miramon interrogated hyper-feminine symbols; Laura Gerte drew on a feminist manifesto by the poet Mina Loy; and the Danish label Martin Quad referenced the photographic self-portraits of Francesca Woodman.

International labels also brought global perspectives to Berlin. Orange Culture evoked the Makoko stilt settlement as a symbol of resilience and adaptability; Buzigahill considered the independence of East African states; and Barragan addressed themes of freedom, identity, and self-determination. Dagger dedicated its collection to the transition from adolescence to adulthood and the formative experiences of this stage of life.

See fashion showMariusz Przybylski – Spring/Summer 2027 – Womenswear – Germany – Berlin – ©Launchmetrics/spotlight

The shows concluded with the Berlin-based label GmbH presenting its anniversary collection ‘Desire Paths’ at the Kronprinzenpalais. Designers Serhat Işık and Benjamin Huseby examined the history of Berlin fashion before its destruction by the Nazis, whilst also framing their collection as a commentary on current social developments.

Alongside the catwalk presentations, the extensive supporting programme added economic and sustainability-driven impetus. The Circular Society Summit organised by VORN- The Berlin Fashion Hub focused on the transition to a circular fashion economy and discussed material innovations, regulatory requirements and new production models. Whilst many labels traditionally mark Berlin Fashion Week with a runway show, this season the designer duo opted for a format that goes beyond classic retail concepts, bringing fashion and art together.

The combination of international participation, economic exchange, and the emphasis on sustainability and nurturing emerging talent once again underscored Berlin Fashion Week’s ambition to position itself as a platform for the future of the fashion industry.

                                Copyright © 2026 FashionNetwork.com All rights reserved.

From July 2 to 5, Berlin Fashion Week underscored its importance as a hub for international exchange and…

[99
4348,112,59692,7280,64210,23639,110,190,1151,12974,1942,26233,64211,575,30635
post-132121","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-berlin","tag-beauty","tag-berlin","tag-berlin-fashion-week","tag-change","tag-colette","tag-ebay","tag-fashion","tag-germany","tag-gmbh","tag-hm","tag-john-lawrence-sullivan","tag-luxury","tag-milk","tag-network","tag-professionals
["GET
