DMGP has concluded and S\u00f8ren Torpegaard Lund has won the right to represent Denmark at the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna.<\/p>\n

The winner of DMGP 2026 was decided by a 50\/50 split between jury and public voting.<\/a> The jury consisted of Danish and international professionals from the fields of music and performance, all with a genuine link to Eurovision or DMGP. The national final has been going since Denmark\u2019s debut in the contest back in 1957. There are often around 8 acts who take part in this often singular night event. The voting process has changed over the years but currently the winner is determined by 50% jury voting and 50% televoting. Denmark is one of a few countries to introduce a super-final round which narrows the artists down to three before deciding the final result.<\/p>\n Denmark\u2019s Eurovision Journey<\/p>\n Denmark first participated in the Eurovision Song Contest back in 1957 and notched up their first win in 1963 with Grethe and J\u00f8rgan Ingmann\u2019s \u201cDansevise\u201d. Denmark later earned two third-place finishes in 1988 and 1989 but was then relegated three times in 1994, 1996, and 1998. They finally achieved their second victory in 2000 with the Olsen Brothers\u2019 \u201cFly on the Wings of Love\u201d, and have missed the Grand Final eight times since the introduction of the semi-finals. A six-year qualification streak from 2008 culminated in its third win in 2013 with Emmelie de Forrest\u2019s \u201cOnly Teardrops<\/p>\n Sissal represented Denmark in 2025 with \u201cHallucination\u201d. She qualified for the final, breaking Denmark\u2019s five-year non-qualification streak. She would eventually finish in 23rd place, earning 47 points.
