The U.S. is still undefeated at the 2026 Milan Cortina Games, as it took care of business on Saturday against Denmark at Milano Santagiulia Ice Hockey Arena in Milan, Italy.<\/p>\n
However, the victory did not come without a scare for the Americans, as goalie Jeremy Swayman allowed three goals to Denmark. <\/p>\n
Two of those came in the first period, which ended with the U.S. down 2-1. The second goal allowed by Swayman, who plays for the Boston Bruins in the NHL, was an embarrassing one, as it was a 95-foot wrist shot by Denmark defenseman Nicholas B. Jensen.<\/p>\n

I truly lost it\u2026 No matter how they go in, you have to step up and stop the next one.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n One possible culprit behind Swayman\u2019s unlucky misplay was the dark boards, which may have made it harder for him to track the puck \u2014 but he didn\u2019t use that as an excuse.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m colorblind, so it doesn\u2019t matter to me,\u201d Swayman joked.<\/p>\n All told, Swayman turned away 18 of Denmark\u2019s 21 shots on goal.\u00a0<\/p>\n Fortunately for him and the U.S., they had the firepower to cover up for his poor performance, with the team scoring three goals in the second period and two more in the final frame.<\/p>\n
