{"id":134572,"date":"2026-07-24T10:00:42","date_gmt":"2026-07-24T10:00:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/134572\/"},"modified":"2026-07-24T10:00:42","modified_gmt":"2026-07-24T10:00:42","slug":"retn-expands-uk-europe-network-with-new-london-brussels-route","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/134572\/","title":{"rendered":"RETN expands UK-Europe network with new London-Brussels route"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>RETN has unveiled a new London-Brussels spectrum route, to provide an alternative connection between the UK and mainland Europe.<\/p>\n<p>The new route is designed to improve physical network diversity by reducing reliance on traditional UK\u2013Europe transit paths through hubs such as Amsterdam and Paris.<\/p>\n<p>As a result, the investment forms part of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mobileeurope.co.uk\/tag\/RETN\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">RETN<\/a>\u2018s wider strategy to strengthen its network against potential disruptions affecting both <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mobileeurope.co.uk\/tag\/subsea\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">subsea<\/a> and terrestrial infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">Don\u2019t miss the stories shaping the future of mobile technology.<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mobileeurope.co.uk\/subscriptions\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Subscribe to Mobile Europe\u2019s newsletter<\/a> \u2013 delivered twice a week.<\/p>\n<p>The route is built on newly deployed dark <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mobileeurope.co.uk\/tag\/fibre\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">fibre<\/a> between Rotterdam and Brussels, allowing RETN to operate its own DWDM network in Belgium and giving the company greater control over this section of its infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, in the UK, the route leaves London via a geographically separate path that avoids the heavily used Docklands corridor, where much of the country\u2019s international traffic passes. <\/p>\n<p>It also uses a different London landing station from RETN\u2019s previously launched low-latency CrossChannel UK\u2013EU route from Slough, adding another layer of physical separation for traffic entering and leaving the UK, the company stated.<\/p>\n<p>Tony O\u2019Sullivan, CEO of RETN said: \u201cBuilding resilient networks is no longer simply about adding capacity \u2013 it\u2019s about creating genuine physical diversity.<\/p>\n<p> \u201cAs international traffic becomes increasingly concentrated on a limited number of routes, customers need unique alternatives that strengthen business continuity.
