BERLIN \u2014 The Berlin Democratic Town Committee is inviting residents to take part in a peaceful community protest Saturday to speak out on issues organizers say are affecting both the community and the country.<\/p>\n
The event, called \u201cEnough is Enough: Berlin Peaceful Protest,\u201d will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at the corner of Lower Lane and Farmington Avenue.<\/p>\n
According to the committee, the protest will focus on three main issues: opposition to aggressive U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) enforcement actions, ending ongoing U.S. involvement in wars abroad and protecting free and fair elections.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is about ordinary people in Berlin showing up for one another and for the democracy we all share,\u201d said Dani Morisse-Corsetti, chair of the Berlin Democratic Town Committee. \u201cYou don\u2019t have to travel to a state capital or a big city to make your voice heard. Change starts on the corner where you live. We\u2019re inviting every neighbor who cares about these issues to stand with us on Saturday.\u201d<\/p>\n
Organizers said the gathering is open to residents of all ages and is intended to be peaceful and family-friendly.
