The madman who screamed \u201cAllahu Akbar\u201d while stabbing an Asian and Jewish man<\/a> in separate harrowing hate attacks on the Upper West Side was a fan of Karl Marx, with police finding one of the communist author\u2019s books inside his apartment.<\/p>\n

Raul Morales \u2013 who\u2019s been hit with attempted murder and hate crime charges<\/a>, and faces up to 40 years in prison \u2013 was arrested Thursday for the violent rampage.<\/p>\n

Investigators later probed the 51-year-old\u2019s shared apartment on Amsterdam Avenue, discovering writings of Marx \u2013 widely considered the father of communism \u2013 in his bedroom, according to information at Morales\u2019 Friday night arraignment that was obtained by The Post.<\/p>\n

The document doesn\u2019t specify which of Marx\u2019s works detectives found, but the 19th century German philosopher wrote several lefty bibles including \u201cThe Communist Manifesto,\u201d co-written with Friedrich Engels, and \u201cDas Kapital,\u201d which tears into capitalism.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The NYPD did not immediately respond to The Post\u2019s inquiry into which book they found.\u00a0<\/p>\n

They also reportedly discovered two Qurans, a Jehovah\u2019s Witness Bible, and a book on Cuban revolutionary Che Guevara.<\/p>\n

Morales allegedly first stabbed<\/a> a 57-year-old Asian man named Chok Sung in the back with a knife near West 84th Street and Central Park West around 1:30 p.m. Thursday, cops said.<\/p>\n

He then charged at Moshe Yezhak Grunhaus, 50, and stabbed him in the chest with a screwdriver, cops said. The unsuspecting victim was wearing a yarmulke and leaving a synagogue on Amsterdam Avenue and West 86th Street at the time of the brazen attack.<\/p>\n

Both victims were rushed to the hospital and are in stable condition.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s the latest on the Upper West Side stabbings:<\/p>\n

Morales, a former drug parolee who apparently used to work as a security guard in Brooklyn, left his roommates and neighbors shocked with the deplorable act of violence.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cIt blew my mind,\u201d one resident, who identified himself as Tony J, 54, told The Post.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery time I see him, he was always, \u2018Hey, how you doing?\u2019 Super, super cordial. \u2026 That\u2019s why if he had a mental break, I have not the slightest idea.\u201d<\/p>\n

Morales was arraigned<\/a> on two counts of attempted murder, two counts of assault and one count of attempted assault \u2014 all of which are being tried as hate crimes.<\/p>\n

The judge also ordered Morales to undergo a psychiatric evaluation. He is due back in court on July 30.<\/p>\n

Morales\u2019 tearful mother cried out to him in the Manhattan courtroom Friday night.\u00a0<\/p>\n
