Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen stated that she believes US President Donald Trump continues to pursue the goal of annexing Greenland, the self-governing Danish territory.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think the desire from the US president is exactly the same,\u201d Caliber.Az<\/a> quotes her as saying <\/a>at the Munich Security Conference.<\/p>\n Frederiksen noted that Trump is \u201cvery serious\u201d about establishing control over Greenland. She added that while she is open to discussing enhanced Arctic security, there are limits to such initiatives.<\/p>\n The prime minister also recalled that Greenland\u2019s residents have opposed joining the United States.<\/p>\n Trump initially insisted that Greenland, part of Denmark, become US territory, prompting protests from both Danish and Greenlandic authorities.
