The incident took place in Tiergarten park near the Pride parade route, prompting police to cancel the remainder of the event and an associated concert at the Brandenburg Gate, Associated Press<\/a> reports. Authorities said several of those injured sustained life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n

Police have identified a suspect who remains at large and has ties to the city’s “Islamist scene,” according to DW<\/a>. More than 2,200 officers had been deployed across the city for the annual event, one of Europe’s largest Pride celebrations, which attracts hundreds of thousands of attendees each year.<\/p>\n
