looking at Cophagen&#8217;s Clem and RB Leipzig&#8217;s Gomis&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">News appears to have leaked from Celtic Park that the club has declared interest in two more players.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first is Copenhagen defensive midfielder, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.transfermarkt.co.uk\/william-clem\/profil\/spieler\/805054\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">William Clem<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Clem is 22 years old and is a Danish under-21.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To date, he has played almost 100 times for Copenhagen.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Danish club currently value him at \u20ac3.5 million (\u00a33 million), so there\u2019s no doubting he\u2019s in Celtic\u2019s magic \u00a33 million price range.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The question here is this, is William Clem plan B if the Mika Baur deal falls through?<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Clem plays as a central midfielder, and a defensive midfielder when required.<\/p>\n<p>But as with any negotiation the Celtic board enters into, it\u2019s likely they\u2019ll offer well under his \u00a33 million valuation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Having said that, we discussed on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=wcehMrDaV-c&amp;t=2s\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Trinity Tims<\/a> last night that while we might have our striking options looking strong now, both Duran and H\u00f8gh will need to be backed up by a solid midfield.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If the board are intent on selling Engels, Hatate, and possibly Callum Mcgregor, then they need to be looking at more options than just Mika Baur.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is what they could be doing with William Clem.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As I stated <a href=\"https:\/\/readceltic.com\/2026\/07\/28\/everything-that-has-come-in-so-far-is-in-no-way-financially-viable-for-us-paderborns-sporting-director-opens-up-on-mika-baur-dealings-with-celtic\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">earlier today<\/a>, if the club wants Mika Baur, then we should just pay the \u00a3257k Paderborn are looking for to meet his valuation, instead of this ridiculous grandstanding.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since the departure of Scott Brown in 2021, Celtic have not managed to secure a solid defensive midfield option.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ironically, the only defensive midfielder we brought in since then was another Danish player, Oliver Abildgaard.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Abildgaard only made six appearances for us during his year long loan at Celtic.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He has since gone on to carve out a decent career in Italy for himself, and is currently playing for Sampdoria.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If Celtic\u2019s interest in Clem turns out to be serious, he doesn\u2019t appear to be a bad option, and he\u2019s well within our price range.<\/p>\n<p>The second player Celtic is reported to be interested in is French under-20 winger, Tidiam Gomis. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">19 year old<a href=\"https:\/\/www.transfermarkt.co.uk\/tidiam-gomis\/profil\/spieler\/955448\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> Gomis<\/a> started his career at French side, Caen, and is now playing in the Bundesliga with RB Leipzig.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Described as one of the \u201cbrightest French players of his generation\u201d, Gomis was subject to interest from\u00a0Bundesliga\u00a0club Bayer Leverkusen\u00a0in the final days of the 2023 summer transfer window.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Although he agreed personal terms with Leverkusen, Caen rejected all offers for the player.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Instead, he ended up being sold to RB Leipzig for \u20ac1 million in the 2025 winter window.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">RB Leipzig currently value Gomis at \u20ac5 million.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The same asking price as Mika Baur, so read into that what you like.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gomis can play in several positions, he can be used as an all out attacker, and can also play on both wings.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So he would be a pretty versatile option for Celtic.<\/p>\n<p>Gomis has an excellent first touch, and very good close control.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He also has a decent eye for goal.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you watch the video on him, he is comfortable playing on both wings, and is not afraid to take defenders on.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When he moves into the middle and plays as a direct striker, he\u2019s well able to get himself into scoring positions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Both Clem and Gomis look like decent options for Celtic.<\/p>\n<p>They are also well within our price range.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We could land both players for just over \u00a37 million.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once again, it will all boil down to Celtic\u2019s brutal negotiation skills, and I don\u2019t mean brutal in a good way.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As discussed last night on the Trinity Tims, we really need to start upping the pace in this window from this week onward.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If Celtic do not have one or two more deals ironed out before the end of this week, there could be a lot of empty seats at the Dundee game.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And more empty seats from just the holiday absences that most people believe it will be.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kasper H\u00f8gh should be announced today.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once that\u2019s done, time to move onto the next target.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They need to come thick and fast from here on out.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That\u2019s the only way we\u2019re going to be in any way prepared for the season
