{"id":136827,"date":"2026-07-29T01:52:10","date_gmt":"2026-07-29T01:52:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/136827\/"},"modified":"2026-07-29T01:52:10","modified_gmt":"2026-07-29T01:52:10","slug":"canadian-womens-soccer-team-to-host-denmark-in-two-october-friendlies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/136827\/","title":{"rendered":"Canadian women\u2019s soccer team to host Denmark in two October friendlies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a style=\"display:block\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/resizer\/v2\/7WGI4RPRJNFEFIKKBY6VP7X56I.jpg?auth=6e75c35dd804d0e28d3ff9e3539b501922c15052296b3086b85c97823444d461&amp;width=600&amp;height=400&amp;quality=80&amp;smart=true\" aria-haspopup=\"true\" data-photo-viewer-index=\"0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Open this photo in gallery:<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"figcap-text\">Canada midfielder Jessie Fleming (17) in action during a 2025 international friendly against the United States in Washington.Nick Wass\/The Canadian Press<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-article-body__text text-pr-5\">Canada will host Denmark in a pair of international friendlies ahead of qualification for next summer\u2019s Women\u2019s World Cup.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-article-body__text text-pr-5\">Canada Soccer announced Tuesday that the women\u2019s national team will face the Danes on Oct. 9 at Montreal\u2019s Stade Saputo before closing out the FIFA international break on Oct. 12 at Toronto\u2019s BMO Field.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-article-body__text text-pr-5\">The exhibitions will be Canada\u2019s final tune-up before November\u2019s CONCACAF W Championship, which serves as qualification for both the 2027 Women\u2019s World Cup and the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-article-body__text text-pr-5\">The Canadian women return home for the first time since hosting Haiti in a pair of June 2025 friendlies in Montreal and Winnipeg.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-article-body__text text-pr-5\">No. 9 Canada and No. 12 Denmark have split six all-time meetings, with three wins apiece.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-article-body__text text-pr-5\">The sides haven\u2019t met since Canada earned a 1-0 victory in the group stage of the 2017 Algarve Cup in Portugal.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-article-body__text text-pr-5\">\u201cPlaying a team like Denmark gives us a really good opportunity to test ourselves and put the final pieces in place ahead of the CONCACAF W Championship,\u201d Canada coach Casey Stoney said in a statement. \u201cIt\u2019s also a great chance to face a very good European opponent.
