(Reuters: Christian Mang)<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">Police and prosecutors asked for help in finding the suspect, who they identified as 21-year-old Abdul B.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">They said he was believed to have injured several people with a moving vehicle, and that one or more people apparently then left that vehicle. Several people were also apparently stabbed, they added.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">The wanted notice warned the public to avoid &#8220;direct contact&#8221; with the suspect, saying that he may be armed and dangerous.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">Police said earlier that they had identified a suspect who had ties to Islamic groups in the German capital.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">&#8220;The suspect is known to police. He is known to us as a member of Islamic circles here in Berlin, and our search for this person is proceeding at full speed,&#8221; police spokesperson Florian Nath said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">&#8220;We still have no information whatsoever regarding his specific motives, the exact sequence of events, or his role in the crime itself.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>White van hits people in Tiergarten Park<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">According to police, a white van had driven into Tiergarten Park about 10pm local time, which is next to the route the pride march had passed along earlier, and hit several people before colliding with a tree.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">Police could not say how many officers were deployed to the scene, but it was &#8220;definitely a lot of police&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">More than 2,200 police officers have been on duty in Berlin since Saturday morning to protect the pride parade and other LGBTQ+ events in the city.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">Police were conducting witness interrogations at the park during the night and were investigating allegations that crash some victims appeared to have suffered stab wounds.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Emergency responders work on the site and one man covered in a thermal blanket.\" class=\"Image_image__5tFYM ContentImage_image__DQ_cq\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/f639ea663b37e20c158a809f81356534.jpeg\" loading=\"lazy\" data-component=\"Image\" data-lazy=\"true\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"Typography_base__sj2RP FigureCaption_text__zDxQ5 Typography_sizeMobile12__w_FPC Typography_lineHeightMobile20___U7Vr Typography_regular__WeIG6 Typography_colourInherit__dfnUx\" data-component=\"Typography\">Some people were seriously injured in the incident and are being treated by emergency services.
