A flight departing from Manchester Airport<\/a> made an ‘urgent’ diversion following an incident onboard.<\/p>\n

The easyJet<\/a> flight departed as scheduled on Tuesday (July 28) bound for Copenhagen. However, shortly after take-off, the aircraft had to be diverted to Newcastle.<\/p>\n

The urgent diversion was necessitated by a passenger ‘needing urgent medical attention’, easyJet confirmed. The flight was met by emergency services upon landing at Newcastle, reports the Manchester Evening News<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Once the passenger was handed over to the care of medics<\/a>, the flight resumed its journey to Copenhagen.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for easyJet said: “Flight EZY2237 from Manchester to Copenhagen yesterday diverted to Newcastle, due to a customer onboard requiring urgent medical attention.”<\/p>\n

“The customer was met by medical services on arrival and the flight continued to Copenhagen. The safety and wellbeing of our customers and crew is always easyJet’s highest priority.”<\/p>\n
