article font size<\/p>\n<p>Canada\u2019s defence minister has signed an agreement at an international security forum to strengthen co-operation with <a href=\"https:\/\/globalnews.ca\/tag\/denmark\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Denmark<\/a> on defence matters.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/d21y75miwcfqoq.cloudfront.net\/70c8fc80\" alt=\"\" style=\"position:absolute;width:1px;height:1px\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\"\/><\/p>\n<p>A news release from the Department of National Defence says David McGuinty, along with defence ministers for Denmark, Greenland and the Faroe Islands have signed a <a href=\"https:\/\/globalnews.ca\/tag\/memorandum-of-understanding\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">memorandum of understanding<\/a> for Canada-Denmark defence cooperation.<\/p>\n<p>The release says the MOU covers areas including defence innovation, industrial cooperation, mutual logistics support, as well as personnel, training, exercises and education.<\/p>\n<p>The signing took place at the Munich Security Conference on Friday, and comes a month after U.S. President Donald security and reinforces cooperation between NATO allies at a time of increasing complexity in the global security environment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Story continues below advertisement<\/p>\n<p>Canada opened a consulate in Greenland\u2019s capital Nuuk earlier this month, and while the consulate was planned before Trump\u2019s return to the White House, it has since become a show of solidarity with McGuinty said in the news release.<\/p>\n<p>The release notes Canada shares a 3,000-kilometre maritime border with Denmark, as well as historic and cultural ties between its Inuit
