He has been serving his detention at Skaugum, the royal residence of Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit, with electronic monitoring. His detention was set to end on Monday, but Oslo Police have today requested he be held in custody for four more weeks.<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"1\" class=\"css-1ood0zq emevuu60\">The police wrote in a press release today (translated from Norwegian), \u201cThe prosecution has concluded that the risk of recidivism as of today has not been sufficiently reduced to consider it appropriate to release H\u00f8iby.\u201d A new hearing on H\u00f8iby\u2019s possible release is set for this upcoming Monday, August 10.<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"2\" class=\"css-1ood0zq emevuu60\">\u201cWe are very surprised because the police have given clear signals that he will be released on Monday with a so-called reverse violence alarm,\u201d H\u00f8iby\u2019s defense attorney Petar Sekulic told <a rel=\"noopener nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dagbladet.no\/nyheter\/marius-er-selv-svaert-overrasket\/84985477\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.dagbladet.no\/nyheter\/marius-er-selv-svaert-overrasket\/84985477\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"Dagbladet\" data-node-id=\"2.1\" class=\"body-link css-wwtvcb emevuu60\">Dagbladet<\/a> (translated from Norwegian), referring to ongoing electronic monitoring. \u201cMarius himself is very surprised after clear indications that he would be released. What has made them change their minds is unknown to us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"4\" class=\"css-1ood0zq emevuu60\">Sekulic added, \u201cWe completely disagree that there is a risk of recurrence. We will have a dialogue with the police attorney throughout the day to clarify what happened.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"5\" class=\"css-1ood0zq emevuu60\">In June, Oslo District Court <a href=\"https:\/\/www.townandcountrymag.com\/society\/tradition\/a71573416\/marius-borg-hoiby-sentencing\/\" target=\"_self\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.townandcountrymag.com\/society\/tradition\/a71573416\/marius-borg-hoiby-sentencing\/\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"sentenced H\u00f8iby to four years in prison\" data-node-id=\"5.1\" class=\"body-link css-wwtvcb emevuu60\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">sentenced H\u00f8iby to four years in prison<\/a>, finding him guilty of two counts of rape, assaulting a former girlfriend, and a number of other offenses. His team <a href=\"https:\/\/www.townandcountrymag.com\/society\/tradition\/a71731942\/marius-borg-hoiby-appeal\/\" target=\"_self\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.townandcountrymag.com\/society\/tradition\/a71731942\/marius-borg-hoiby-appeal\/\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"later filed for appeal\" data-node-id=\"5.3\" class=\"body-link css-wwtvcb emevuu60\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">later filed for appeal<\/a>; H\u00f8iby has consistently denied the most serious charges, including the rape convictions.
