Inaugurated this Friday in the presence of Kim Gevaert, director of the Brussels meeting, the “From Ivo to Mondo” exhibition will open to the public on Saturday, on the first floor of the Lottery Shop.<\/p>\n

The exhibition features objects, press cuttings, and archive photographs, such as Ivo Van Damme’s spiked shoes, his outfit worn during the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games, family photo albums, and training notebooks in which the Olympic medalist recorded his programme and results in detail.<\/p>\n

Visitors can also learn more about the very first edition of the Memorial and (re)discover the various world stars who have participated in this event over the past five decades, as well as world records and the most iconic posters.<\/p>\n

Additionally, the Museum of World Athletics (Mowa) has loaned dozens of exceptional items belonging to renowned figures in athletics history, such as Alberto Juantorena, Carl Lewis, Usain Bolt, and Mondo Duplantis, all connected to the Memorial.<\/p>\n
