{"id":14487,"date":"2026-02-16T01:08:27","date_gmt":"2026-02-16T01:08:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/14487\/"},"modified":"2026-02-16T01:08:27","modified_gmt":"2026-02-16T01:08:27","slug":"polish-president-backs-path-to-national-nuclear-weapons","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/14487\/","title":{"rendered":"Polish President Backs Path to National Nuclear Weapons"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Polish President Karol Navrotsky says Warsaw should move toward its own nuclear capability, backing a nuclear project despite US limits on NATO deployments.<\/p>\n<p>In\u00a0an\u00a0interview with Polsat News, President of\u00a0Poland Karol Navrotsky said Warsaw should move toward acquiring its own nuclear weapons capability.<\/p>\n<p>He described himself as a firm supporter of Poland joining a nuclear project, arguing that the country is, in his words, \u00abon the brink of armed conflict\u00bb, including because of Russia. Commenting on how Moscow might react to the launch of a Polish nuclear program, Navrotsky said that Russia, as he sees it, can \u00abreact aggressively to anything\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>Navrotsky stressed that Poland, in\u00a0his view, should follow a\u00a0path that fully complies with international norms and that the authorities need to\u00a0start acting in\u00a0this direction in\u00a0order to\u00a0begin practical work.<\/p>\n<p>Debates over nuclear weapons in\u00a0Poland have been going on\u00a0for years. Back in\u00a02015, the Polish Defence Ministry spoke of\u00a0its intention to\u00a0join NATO\u2019s\u00a0Nuclear Sharing program.
