A Russian plot to kill a Ukrainian American citizen in Warsaw was thwarted by Poland before it could be carried out, the Polish prime minister said Thursday.<\/p>\n
It was the first time that \u201csomeone on the order of Russia\u201d sought to attack an American citizen on the territory of another NATO country, Prime Minister Donald Tusk said.<\/p>\n
A suspect, who was allegedly recruited by Russia\u2019s secret services, was detained by Polish authorities on August 7.<\/p>\n

By continuing you agree to our Terms<\/a> and Privacy Policy<\/a>.<\/p>\n The American Ukrainian citizen \u201cwas uncomfortable for the Putin regime,\u201d Mr Tusk said in a news conference.<\/p>\n The operation was carried out in cooperation with US services, said Tomasz Siemoniak, Poland\u2019s minister overseeing intelligence services.
