Photo by Valda Kalnina\/EPA<\/p>\n<p>Aug. 17 (UPI) &#8212; The annual Corgi Race Vilnius in Lithuania featured about 150 short-legged canines from nine different countries.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/corgi.race.vilnius\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Saturday event featured<\/a> multiple races, costume contests, a &#8220;smartest nose&#8221; tracking competition, puzzle-solving contests and a &#8220;Mightiest Voice&#8221; barking contest.\n<\/p>\n<p>Participating corgis and owners <a href=\"https:\/\/www.euronews.com\/culture\/2026\/08\/16\/a-race-of-short-legs-and-big-personalities-corgis-take-over-vilnius\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">hailed from nine countries<\/a> including Latvia, Poland, Estonia, Germany, Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Britain and the United States.<\/p>\n<p>The first Corgi Race Vilnius was held in 2020 as a friendly contest between two corgis and their owners.
