Riga came alive this weekend as fans and the Latvian Basketball Association welcomed the U16 men\u2019s national team back to the capital.<\/p>\n

The squad returned home after capturing the country\u2019s first-ever FIBA U16 EuroBasket gold medal in Oradea, Romania.<\/p>\n

Latvia capped off a flawless 7-0 campaign with a hard-fought 75-69 victory over four-time champions France.<\/p>\n

The atmosphere at the welcome event was electric. Fans packed in to snap pictures, get autographs, and celebrate a new generation of Latvian hoopers.<\/p>\n

Tournament MVP Benjamin Berrouet led the charge throughout the tournament, dropping 22 points and grabbing 13 rebounds in the final.<\/p>\n
