All services will depart from its hub at Brussels-Zaventem Airport (BRU) and are integrated into the winter 2026-27 schedule, responding to the growing interest in Nordic winter destinations.

Until now, the company offered these destinations mainly through charter flights in collaboration with travel agencies. It offers fjord landscapes, mountains, Sami heritage and opportunities to see the Northern Lights.

“The Arctic region in winter is simply magical. Brussels Airlines already offered these dream winter destinations in collaboration with travel agencies, but given the growing demand, from now on scheduled passenger flights to the region will also be offered, giving travelers even more options to discover outdoor adventures and a unique local culture,” said Greet Vandebos, Director of Leisure Sales at Brussels Airlines. Since winter 2024, the airline has operated four destinations in the Canary Islands (with the recent addition of Fuerteventura) and maintains year-round service to Funchal (Madeira) thanks to its mild temperatures. The Nordic destinations now complete an attractive winter leisure network.

The announcement comes amid a similar expansion by its sister airline Discover Airlines (also part of the Lufthansa Group), which has strengthened its connections from Frankfurt and Munich to Finnish and Nordic destinations for this winter and even 2027 (including Ivalo and new routes to Savonlinna and Kajaani). Interest in the Arctic — Northern Lights, pristine landscapes, outdoor activities and local culture — has evolved from a highly seasonal and family-oriented market (centered on Christmas and Santa Claus) to a broader, more consolidated travel niche in Europe.

Brussels Airlines, the Belgian carrier of the Lufthansa Group, announced the addition of three new scheduled connections to…

[104
211,210,8513,70004,6665,6667
post-147538","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-brussels","tag-belgium","tag-brussels","tag-brussels-airlines","tag-evenes","tag-kemi","tag-kittila
["GET
