It has to be connected to the systems, data and control mechanisms insurers use to run their business. With omni:us, we are gaining proven, production-grade AI for claims together with the specialised expertise required to embed intelligence directly into the core insurance landscape,” said Andreas Nolte, Managing Director Insurance Business Solutions at adesso.

Founded in Dortmund in 1997, adesso is one of the leading IT service providers in the German-speaking market and a leading provider of core insurance systems. The company’s in|sure Ecosphere is a modular, cloud-enabled application landscape covering core insurance processes across property and casualty, health and life insurance, and retirement and pension solutions.

The group reported generating revenue of €1.3 billion in 2024 and employs more than 11,100 people across over 65 locations.

Founded in 2015, omni:us is a provider of AI-powered end-to-end insurance claim automation. Its portfolio includes end-to-end automation for standardised claims as well as an agentic co-pilot for complex cases.

The company states that its technology analyses claims information, applies insurance-specific logic and generates traceable outputs that can be integrated into insurers’ existing core system environments. In 2018, the company announced the closing of a Series A round led by Target Global.

Through the acquisition, adesso strengthens its insurance business with proprietary AI technology, an established product organisation, specialised domain expertise and international customer relationships. Simultaneously, omni:us gains access to adesso’s market presence and its capabilities in insurance, integration, implementation and scaling.

Under the terms of this acquisition, the omni:us team will play a central role in the continued development and commercialisation of the combined insurance AI portfolio. Its products, expertise, and customer relationships will remain within the adesso Group under the omni:us brand.

Existing omni:us customers will continue to be supported within their current product and technology environments, and the existing solutions will continue to be actively developed. These customers will gain access to adesso’s broader insurance, integration, implementation and scaling capabilities.

On the other hand, adesso’s customers will gain access to AI technology for claims processing. These capabilities will be progressively integrated into adesso’s existing portfolio for core insurance systems and insurance transformation.

The acquisition also increases the share of proprietary software within adesso’s insurance portfolio and expands its ability to offer existing customers additional AI-powered solutions. omni:us, in turn, gains access to adesso’s market reach, insurance expertise, and implementation and scaling capabilities.

“Claims is where artificial intelligence has to prove that it can perform reliably under real financial, regulatory and operational conditions. “We have spent ten years building that capability. Together with adesso, we can make it accessible to a significantly broader insurance market, integrate it more deeply into core systems and extend the same rigorous approach to further insurance processes,” said Thomas Hauschild, CEO of omni:us.

According to both companies, their joint product strategy addresses two key market requirements. First, specialised AI capabilities will increasingly be embedded directly into insurance products and workflow solutions, creating ready-to-deploy offerings for insurers. Second, customers will be able to develop, integrate, and operate their own or third-party AI agents within a controlled agentic layer.

Both companies highlighted that the joint product strategy will remain aligned with the requirements of regulated insurance processes. These include explainability, human oversight, operational reliability, data protection, information security and full traceability.

adesso, a Dortmund-based provider of insurance-specific software and technology solutions, has acquired omni:us, a Berlin-based startup specialising in…

[99
5172,70176,248,70177,112,190,70178,70179,70180,70181
post-147610","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-berlin","tag-acquisition","tag-adesso","tag-ai","tag-andreas-nolte","tag-berlin","tag-germany","tag-insuretech","tag-omnius","tag-target-global","tag-thomas-hauschild
["GET
