{"id":147764,"date":"2026-08-18T07:29:39","date_gmt":"2026-08-18T07:29:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/147764\/"},"modified":"2026-08-18T07:29:39","modified_gmt":"2026-08-18T07:29:39","slug":"elrons-eastbound-tallinn-narva-rail-service-halted-by-infrastructure-damage-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/147764\/","title":{"rendered":"Elron&#8217;s eastbound Tallinn\u2013Narva rail service halted by infrastructure damage | News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Eastbound Tallinn\u2013Narva rail service has been halted for at least half a day Thursday after newly built overhead power lines were damaged between Kohtla-N\u00f5mme and P\u00fcssi.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The first Narva\u2013Tallinn train of the day is currently stopped between Kohtla-N\u00f5mme and P\u00fcssi and cannot continue toward Tallinn,&#8221; Elron communications chief Kristo M\u00e4e said in a statement Thursday morning, noting that the power lines had been damaged overnight.<\/p>\n<p>Passengers will be taken to their destinations by bus as soon as possible, he added.<\/p>\n<p>Estonian Internal Security Service (ISS) spokesperson Marta Tuul confirmed to ERR that the Police and Border Guard Board (PPA) is handling the case, as there was no indication of sabotage in the damage.<\/p>\n<p>Rail infrastructure owner Estonian Railways (EVR) expects repairs to be completed by noon. Elron will continue to arrange replacement bus service as needed until rail service can be restored.<\/p>\n<p>Passengers are advised to check the Elron website for <a href=\"https:\/\/elron.ee\/en\/soiduinfo\/teated\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">the latest service information<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Passengers are also <a href=\"https:\/\/elron.pilet.ee\/en\/tagastus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">eligible for a refund<\/a> if their train is delayed by 30 minutes or more.
