So, right after we hosted Amsterdam, KC is now taking our music to their front door.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>With Kansas City so visible on the international stage following the World Cup and the recent fourth season premiere of Ted Lasso, we\u2019re having a bit of a moment in terms of civic pride, so this is a prime opportunity for KC on the global stage.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thepitchkc.com\/content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/s\/q\/michael-gordon-05-final.jpg\" data-lb-width=\"1080\" data-lb-height=\"1620\" class=\" photoswipe gtxlightbox\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-949023 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/michael-gordon-05-final-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"Michael Gordon 05 Final\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\"  \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Michael Gordon. \/\/ photo courtesy KC Symphony<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUltimately, this tour is a celebration of Kansas City\u2019s love for music,\u201d says Michael Gordon, principal flute. \u201cDecades of passion, support and dedication from our community have led us to this opportunity to represent Kansas City on three of the most iconic stages in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gordon notes that two years ago, the symphony received the warmest and most enthusiastic welcome from their audiences in Amsterdam, Hamburg, and Berlin, and he\u2019s quite excited for the players to share with them a resounding musical \u201cHELLO AGAIN, FRIENDS!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI also can\u2019t wait to take a bike ride around Amsterdam, and I will get a doner kebab in Berlin, and just maybe I\u2019ll find a pint (or even a liter) of a delicious beer in Hamburg,\u201d enthuses Gordon, previewing the tour diaries we\u2019ll be hosting here at the Pitch next week, wherein members of the KC Symphony will share their reactions and thoughts on each night.<\/p>\n<p>Locals can catch the first show of the tour here at home for the KC Symphony\u2019s European tour send-off show on Friday, August 21 at the Kauffman Center.<\/p>\n<p>As Gordon ably points out, \u201cIt turns out, the world\u2019s stage is right here.
