Estonian triathlete Henri R\u00e4ppo won the half-distance Ironman Tallinn 70.3 in Tallinn for the second consecutive year. The 28-year-old athlete completed the 1.9 km swim, 90 km cycling leg and half marathon in 3 hours 38 minutes 32 seconds.<\/p>\n

Men’s race results<\/p>\n

Germany’s Hannes Butters took second place, finishing 1 minute 7 seconds behind the winner. Italy’s Enzo Burd\u00f3n finished third, almost three minutes after R\u00e4ppo. As ERR News reports<\/a>, the Ironman Tallinn 70.3 competition took place after Saturday’s full-distance Ironman race.<\/p>\n

Women’s podium<\/p>\n

Italy’s Marta Bernardi won the women’s race with a time of 4 hours 12 minutes 3 seconds. Estonia’s Liis Kapten entered the finishing straight in second place but fell and allowed France’s Sandra Huon to move ahead. Huon finished 1 minute 5 seconds behind Bernardi.<\/p>\n

The 20-year-old Kapten got up and crossed the finish line four seconds after Huon. She took third place, 1 minute 9 seconds behind, and was the best among the Estonian participants in the women’s race.<\/p>\n

Full distance<\/p>\n

In the full-distance Ironman race on Saturday, France’s R\u00e9mi Conte won, while Finland’s Laura Jalasto recorded the best result among women. Kristopher Kamberg achieved the highest place among Estonians in this distance.<\/p>\n
