LEGO<\/a> has finally revealed its Super Mario range that will include minifigures for the first time, including playsets for Bowser’s Castle and numerous Mario Kart vehicles. <\/p>\n

Super Mario has been appearing in LEGO sets for years, though mostly as part of the company’s bigger-scale range designed to work with the interactive Super Mario toy unit.<\/p>\n

That experiment now seems to over, however, with the long-awaited rollout of Super Mario sets scaled to minifigure size. And indeed, these will also include a growing range of Mario minifigures, with Luigi, Peach, Toad, Yoshi, Koopa Troopa, and Bowser Jr. all glimpsed in this first wave, as well as a Bowser big fig. The range will all be available from January 1, 2027.<\/p>\n

The range begins with Mario’s Pipe Jump (72052), a 61-piece set priced at $9.99 that features a Mario minifigure, dinky Goomba element and large green warp pipe. Next up is Racing with Mario (72054), an 84-piece set for $14.99 that features a Mario minifigure and the plumber’s classic kart. Green and red shells are also included, as is a banana.<\/p>\n

Mario’s Beach Adventures (72055) sees the hero take some downtime by the sea. This 196-piece set sells for $19.99 and includes a Mario in swim trunks minifigure (no, he doesn’t have nipples), plus a buildable snack bar, lounger and giant enemy crab.<\/p>\n

Luigi & Bowser Jr.’s Race (72056) is essentially a larger version of the previous Racing with Mario set, except with both Luigi and Bowser Jr. Both characters are included as minifigures, alongside their karts and accessories. This is a 104-piece set that will sell for $29.99.<\/p>\n

Moving onto the slightly bigger sets, Yoshi at Mario’s House (72057) is a 147-piece build that sells for $39.99. Included here are Mario and a slightly awkward-looking Yoshi minifigure, plus a goomba.<\/p>\n

Bowser’s Rumbling Race (72058) is another Mario Kart set, this time with 409 pieces for $59.99. Here, you can expand your starting lineup with karts for Toad, Bowser, Goomba and Mario Kart World’s fan-favorite Cow. The first two characters are minifigures, while the latter is a buildable design.<\/p>\n

The biggest set in this starting wave is Fire Mario & Bowser’s Castle, which will weigh in at 850 pieces and sell for $99.99. This features Fire Mario, Peach and Koopa Trooper minifigures, the Bowser big fig and a goomba. It’s a cool-looking design, even if LEGO is clearly making us wait for the Peach’s Castle set we all really want. <\/p>\n

Lastly, Fire Luigi vs. Koopa Troopa Battle (72061) is a smaller 241-piece set featuring, unsurprisingly, Fire Luigi and a Koopa Troopa minifigures. <\/p>\n

“The new LEGO minifigures mark a refreshed LEGO Super Mario theme, newly centred on creative LEGO minifigure roleplay action,” LEGO stated in a press release today. “The refresh of the Super Mario theme will see building experiences arriving for LEGO Super Mario centred on creative LEGO minifigure roleplay, featuring iconic characters, karts, and environments from the Super Mario and Mario Kart universe.”<\/p>\n
