In August 2026, a photography exhibition by Vytautas Butrimas opened at the Faculty of Medicine of Vilnius University, inviting visitors to pause, look closely, and take a fresh look at our everyday surroundings.<\/p>\n
The author of the exhibition, V. Butrimas, worked for more than 30 years in the fields of information technology security and defense policy before dedicating himself to what had always fascinated him \u2014 photography.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am often struck by what I see in everyday environments. A connection forms with the scene I observe, forcing me to stop and reflect. When a sight leaves a strong impact on my mind and emotions, I want to capture those moments \u2014 not only to preserve the image, but also to return to it later, re-experience those feelings, and continue meditating\u201d, the photographer shares his experiences during the creative process.<\/p>\n
The exhibition features moments from two places very close to the author’s heart that he calls home \u2014 the Vilnius Old Town and Palanga. It offers a view of a familiar environment where, upon closer inspection, one can discover unexpected sights, evoke emotions, and reveal new meanings.<\/p>\n
This exhibition is the result of learning, effort, curiosity, and continuous observation of the environment. It is also an invitation for visitors to pause for a moment, put away their smartphones, and truly look around. Perhaps what seems simple and ordinary at first glance actually hides an extraordinary moment \u2014 an unordinary everyday life.<\/p>\n
