{"id":153821,"date":"2026-08-27T10:36:16","date_gmt":"2026-08-27T10:36:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/153821\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T10:36:16","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T10:36:16","slug":"norwegian-king-haralds-health-is-in-very-serious-condition-palace-says-world","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/153821\/","title":{"rendered":"Norwegian King Harald&#8217;s health is in very serious condition, palace says | World"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>OSLO, Norway (AP) \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/norway-royals-king-harald-hospital-ae69b37496d67157b6841c6c8df5ba50\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Norwegian King Harald<\/a> was in \u201cvery serious condition\u201d as his health deteriorated, palace officials said Thursday, prompting the queen and Crown Prince Haakon to cancel their engagements.<\/p>\n<p>The 89-year-old monarch, who has hemolytic anemia and has been on <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/norway-royals-king-harald-hospital-7b6f4380514466e15dfef6de7f7bf60d\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">sick leave for several weeks<\/a>, was admitted to the National Hospital in Oslo earlier this month. His condition had previously stabilized following a bacterial blood infection but the royal palace on Thursday said it had worsened.<\/p>\n<p>Haakon, his son, has been serving as regent during the king\u2019s time in the hospital.<\/p>\n<p>Harald, who has been monarch since 1991, has been in and out of the hospital several times in recent years.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 The Associated Press.
