Crowds are gathering outside the Royal Palace in Oslo, Norway as the country follows the news of King Harald\u2019s worsening health<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe King\u2019s health condition is unchanged,\u201d the Palace announced just before 5 p.m. local time today. King Harald\u2019s entire family spent the day at the hospital<\/a> with him. The Palace also shared Crown Prince Haakon\u2019s trip to F\u00e6rder National Park and Queen Sonja\u2019s trip to Tr\u00f8ndelag have been canceled. This morning, the Palace noted \u201cHis Majesty the King\u2019s health condition is extremely serious.\u201d<\/p>\n

Additionally, Prime Minister Jonas Gahr St\u00f8re canceled his planned trip to Germany. \u201cI stand together with the entire country as we now send our warmest thoughts to the king and the rest of the royal family. I am confident that the king is being well taken care of, and that he is receiving good and compassionate treatment,\u201d he told AFP in a statement.<\/p>\n

In addition, the speaker of Norway\u2019s parliament, Masud Gharahkhani, ended a trip to Iceland early, and the Lutheran Church of Norway\u2019s College of Bishops have cut short their visit to Rome, where they met with Pope Leo, to return home.<\/p>\n
