\n\u00d8rsted announced on September 1 that the 920 MW Greater
\nChanghua 2b<\/a>
\nand 4<\/a>
\noffshore wind farms, located 35 to 60 kilometres off the coast of Changhua
\nCounty, Taiwan, have completed major construction work.
\n

\nThe announcement follows the completion of the Greater Changhua 1 and 2a
\noffshore wind farms, which became fully operational in 2024. Together,
\nthe Greater Changhua cluster now has a total installed capacity of 1.82
\nGW, enough to power approximately 2 million Taiwanese households annually.
\n
\n

\nThis construction milestone marks significant progress, with the wind farms
\nexpected to achieve full commercial operation by the end of the third quarter
\nof 2026.
\n

\nRasmus Errboe, Group President and CEO of \u00d8rsted, said: \u201cThe completion
\nof Greater Changhua 2b and 4 is a significant milestone in the delivery
\nof \u00d8rsted’s strategy and global 8.1 GW construction programme.\u201d
\n
\n

\nThe announcement also emphasised the use of local partnerships and the
\nwind farms’ contribution to Taiwan’s green finance ecosystem.
\n

\nCho Jung-tai, Taiwan’s premier, said \u00d8rsted’s long-term commitment to Taiwan
\nhas supported the country’s offshore wind development, stating: \u201cBy actively
\nintroducing innovative technologies, cultivating local talent, fostering
\nindustry-academia collaboration, and vitalising green finance, \u00d8rsted and
\nits partners have played a crucial role in realising our nation’s energy
\nambitions and policy goals.\u201d <\/p>\n
