{"id":157818,"date":"2026-09-02T14:28:22","date_gmt":"2026-09-02T14:28:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/157818\/"},"modified":"2026-09-02T14:28:22","modified_gmt":"2026-09-02T14:28:22","slug":"volvo-cars-to-close-stockholm-office-in-efficiency-drive-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/157818\/","title":{"rendered":"Volvo Cars to close Stockholm office in efficiency drive"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Published Mon, Aug 31, 2026 \u00b7 06:59 PM<\/p>\n<p class=\"whitespace-pre-wrap break-words mb-4 md:mb-6\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-component\">[HELSINKI] Sweden\u2019s Volvo Cars said on Monday (Aug 31) it will close its Stockholm office, where 450 people currently work, relocating responsibilities to its Gothenburg headquarters as part of an effort to cut costs and boost efficiency.<\/p>\n<p class=\"whitespace-pre-wrap break-words mb-4 md:mb-6\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-component\">The carmaker, majority owned by China\u2019s Geely, last year said it plans to cut 3,000 mostly white collar jobs as it grapples with a challenging automotive market marked by weaker demand and trade uncertainty.<\/p>\n<p class=\"whitespace-pre-wrap break-words mb-4 md:mb-6\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-component\">Volvo Cars on Monday said concentrating resources across fewer Swedish sites would help reduce complexity, speed up cross functional collaboration and improve competitiveness.<\/p>\n<p class=\"whitespace-pre-wrap break-words mb-4 md:mb-6\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-component\">The Stockholm office, established to build expertise in areas such as software development, artificial intelligence and digital customer experience, will close on March 1, 2027.<\/p>\n<p class=\"whitespace-pre-wrap break-words mb-4 md:mb-6\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-component\">It was not immediately clear how many jobs would be cut as a result of the move.<\/p>\n<p class=\"whitespace-pre-wrap break-words mb-4 md:mb-6\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-component\">\u201cVolvo Cars will manage the process in close dialogue with employees and employee representatives,\u201d the company said in a statement.
