A ferry company has confirmed several changes following complaints by passengers.<\/p>\n
Under DFDS’ new rules, dogs are allowed to stay in cars and riders will not be charged for bringing their bikes on board.<\/p>\n
A DFDS spokesperson said: “The pet travel policy is being reviewed and will allow for dogs to remain in vehicles whilst travelling on the slower ferry to the UK.”<\/p>\n
Previously the company had said those taking pets would need to book a designated pet cabin. The company said those who had booked a pet cabin would be refunded upon request.<\/p>\n
Bookings for the new ferry service from March<\/a> between Jersey, France and the UK were put live at the end of January.<\/p>\n DFDS said day trip pricing and offers to and from France were still “yet to be released” but would be “announced shortly”.<\/p>\n Ferry bosses are working with The Kennel Club of Jersey to “establish a set of guidelines” for passengers bringing their pets onboard “with the welfare of animals as the highest priority”.<\/p>\n Caravans are also now available to book online. <\/p>\n Follow BBC Jersey on X, external<\/a> and Facebook, external<\/a>.
